Grid Storage systems commissioned by Tata Power

Tata Power announced the commercial lining up of its 10 MW energy storage system installed at Rohini Substation, Delhi Power Distribution system. Certainly a path breaking movement towards streamlining power in the grid. With the era of renewables catching up quickly, it is only important that grids become more efficient. Smart grids need to have a storage mechanism that could push the excess power swiftly into the batteries and the pull it back when in need soon thereafter.

We certainly look forward to more such projects that would enable grids to evacuate power without any miss. We can save on our operating efficiency and therefore, huge foreign reserves if only we operate our generators close to 100% PLF.

More here...
