Establishment of the 2MW Solar Power Plant with 4Mw/hr Battery Energy Storage System for captive.

<p>The commission lauded the petitioner to set up an ambitious Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project first of its kind in the State of Tamil Nadu. With all charges applicable as per the regulations of the commission and harmonics to be controlled as stipulated in the Supply Code, the?stored energy?exported into the grid is permitted to adjust in the respective slots/blocks including peak hour slot.</p><p>The Petitioner vide letter dated 19.05.2022 to the 2nd Respondent requested for the merger of both the 1MW SPG in Minukkampatty 110/22KV SS as 2MW SPG and requested permission for establishment of 4MWhr Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)in the same site with an intention to captive adjustment of the solar power during peak hours and night hours also by storing the generated solar power in the battery. The Petitioner is the first generator in Tamil Nadu to establish a solar power plant with a battery storage system. ?</p><p>A direction that the 2MW SPG with the 4MWhr Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)to be commissioned and synchronized in the Respondents grid within 12 months from the date of this letter and in case of any failure to commission the plan within the said period the entire security deposit of Rs.20,00,000/- paid by the Petitioner would be forfeited and the application will stand canceled automatically. ?</p><p>The Petitioner to approach the Commission and obtain prior permission for adjustment of solar energy generated in the 2 MW SPG during day time and adjustment of the solar energy stored in the 4MWhr Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) against peak hour and night hour consumption. ?</p><p>It is in this context, the ambitious project of the petitioner to set up the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) first of its kind in the State of Tamil Nadu deserves to be lauded.</p><p>The petitioner is permitted to adjust the stored energy exported in to the grid in the respective slots/blocks including peak hour slots.</p><p>?</p>
